Surfactants

Surfactants (surface-active agents) are molecules possessing a hydrophilic head group and hydrophobic hydrocarbon tail, enabling simultaneous interaction with polar and nonpolar phases. This duality reduces interfacial tension, enabling emulsification, wetting, foaming, dispersing, and solubilization functions.
